Chris Wallace Jokes: My Trump Interview Sunday Will Be ‘Huuuuuuuge’

Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace joked on Friday morning that his upcoming interview with Donald Trump would be “huuuuuuuge,” but he also expressed support for the Republican presidential frontrunner’s belief that a three-hour debate would be too long.

Trump and Ben Carson, who sit atop national polls among GOP primary voters, threatened to boycott the next presidential debate unless CNBC — the network hosting the Oct. 28 contest — agrees to shorten the debate to two hours. Trump announced on Twitter Friday morning that CNBC had agreed to a two-hour debate.

“I have to say, I think [Trump’s and Carson’s] demands were perfectly reasonable,” Wallace said on America’s Newsroom. “The Fox debate — the first debate, 24 million people watched in August — two hours, and with 10 candidates. And that was plenty of time to get at the issues and to give all the candidates time to talk.”

Wallace also joked that the third hour of CNN’s GOP debate last month was “a human rights abuse to the viewers,” noting that Trump and Carson did not want to be “props” for CNBC to make more money from a longer debate.
