Chuck Todd Reportedly ‘Likely’ to Replace David Gregory on Meet the Press
Chuck Todd, host of MSNBC’s The Daily Rundown, will “likely” replace David Gregory as anchor of NBC’s Meet the Press, according to a report in Politico Playbook.
The announcement will be made “in coming weeks,” according to the report, which also says “nothing is definite or decided.”
Meet the Press has suffered in ratings under Gregory’s tenure. Reports that NBC network bosses were looking to replace him have circled for months. It was recently reported that he would be removed from the anchor chair sometime around the 2014 midterm elections.
On Fox News Sunday, Chris Wallace suggested that NBC was not handling Gregory’s potential ousting “properly,” saying that executives “should get rid of him” instead of leaving him “twisting in the wind.”
