CNN’s Arwa Damon Emails Apology for Alleged Drunken Biting Incident

CNN senior international correspondent Arwa Damon emailed an apology to the staff of the U.S. embassy in Baghdad last month after she is said to have become “seriously intoxicated,” according to the New York Post.

“I want to extent [sic] my sincerest apologies and deepest gratitude to all that were involved in helping me out,” the letter reads. “It’s been an extremely stressful time, I was exhausted, I had not had proper food all day and clearly miscalculated how my body would handle the alcohol consumed.”

Damon wrote that she was “utterly mortified” and “beyond embarrassed” by her actions that night, though she claims in the letter that she doesn’t remember them.

Two EMTs who were present for the incident, however, say they remember very well. They have filed a lawsuit against CNN for $1 million each, claiming that Damon became “seriously intoxicated” and bit them.
