CNN’s Brian Stelter: Don’t Take Medical Advice from Fox’s Keith Ablow

CNN Reliable Sources host Brian Stelter took aim Sunday at Fox News contributor Keith Ablow for suggesting that First Lady Michelle Obama is too overweight to promote healthy eating.

“I watch Fox News every day,” Stelter said on his show, “and I learn a lot about conservative politics from watching Fox but may I strongly suggest that you not take its medical advice.”

Stelter then played the clip from Fox News’s Outnumbered wherein Ablow said Obama should “drop a few” pounds.

“Speaking as a guy who was overweight growing up and who lost 90 pounds a few years ago,” Stelter continued, “I think we need all the help we can get to reduce obesity in this country. So, i really wish talking heads would not controversizlait something as simple as nutrition advice.”

After Ablows initial remarks, he defended them, saying Obama is “obviously not fit” and “dislikes America.”

In 2011, Stelter, then a New York Times reporter, gained media attention for using his Twitter account to document his dramatic weight loss.
