Concha: Cenk Uygur ‘Screaming for Relevance’ with Attack on Glenn Beck

Appearing on Fox’s MediaBuzz this morning, Mediaite columnist Joe Concha praised radio host Glenn Beck for “humanizing opinion journalism” following his medical revelation, and criticized The Young Turks‘ Cenk Uygur for saying that Beck is just doing this for attention.

Concha said media reactions to public figures’ medical revelations are almost always universally positive, and said the former MSNBC host is just “screaming to be relevant again.” Uygur said Beck is making the whole thing up because he is going “bankrupt” — something that Concha said should not slip by, given Beck’s astounding salary not only from his media network The Blaze, but also from his New York Times bestsellers.

“Overall, Glenn Beck earned $90 million last year. That’s more than Oprah. That’s more than Ellen. That’s $25 million more than Rush Limbaugh. Anybody who says he’s going bankrupt and he made up this whole thing because he doesn’t have a couple of dollars in his pocket doesn’t live in a reality that has Google, a calculator, and basic logic.”
