Conservative Group Wants Jennifer Lopez To Stop Having ‘Skanky’ Orgies On American Idol

Did you know that the average human life-span in America is only 78.3 years? Despite this fact, people still watch four hours of American Idol a week. A lot of people. And some of those people are even children.* So should those children be subjected to Jennifer Lopez writhing around in some kind of faux orgy in her new music video? Some media watchdog groups think not.

*Although, considering the winner always tends to be a nonthreatening guy with a guitar, we’re guessing most of those viewers are middle-aged women. I’d look up the demographics but I’m already spending too much time thinking about this.

Last week on the show, Lopez premiered her new music video “Dance Again.” The video featured Lopez and her new boyfriend Casper Smart rolling around on the walls and floor in some kind of (clothed) gravity-free orgy. It’s kind of like a mixture Britney Spears’ “I’m a Slave 4 U” and the trippier sequences from the Lopez-starring 2000 film The Cell, a movie which is more interesting than anything either so far or to come in this post. Seriously, just go watch that.

Anyway, the professional sticks-in-the-mud at The Culture and Media Institute felt their outrage senses a tinglin’ and have gone after Lopez in an interview with Radar Online:

“’Even the supposedly family-friendly TV shows like American Idol are never safe in the hands of Hollywood,’ Dan Gainor of the Culture and Media Institute tells RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview.

‘Jennifer Lopez’s skanky new video shows how desperate she is to retain her fame despite her fading relevance,’ he revealed.”

Good one, Gainor. Most media watchdogs don’t have the courage to use the word “skanky” in their media criticism.

Really though, if the kids watching American Idol can handle looking at Steven Tyler for two whole hours an episode, I think it’s gonna take more than one little music video to faze them.

Now, if you’re interested, check out the horribly offensive video below. Or just go rent The Cell. Your choice.
