Dave Portnoy Mocks Trump for Claiming Taylor Swift Isn’t ‘Hot’ Anymore: He ‘Couldn’t Be More Wrong’

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy came to the defense of Taylor Swift after President Donald Trump declared the singer is “no longer hot.”

Portnoy, who voted for Trump, joined Fox Business’ Stuart Varney on Tuesday to give his take on a number of topics, including Trump’s recent Truth Social targeting Swift. Portnoy is a vocal fan of the singer.

“Are you upset with Trump?” Varney asked Portnoy after noting the sports commentator is a “big fan” of Swift.

“I’m not upset with Trump. Trump’s Trump so that was not a surprising thing,” Portnoy said. “I mean, he’s wrong. Like, you can’t be more wrong about anything. Taylor Swift is as hot as she’s ever been in the streets. She hasn’t put out new music, but if she said, ‘hey, snap my fingers, I want to sell 500,000 or a million tickets in three seconds and break Live Nation, she’d do it.”

In a Friday Truth Social post, Trump claimed Swift is “no longer hot” and it’s all thanks to him.

“Has anyone noticed that,” the president wrote, “since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?'”

Trump declared his hate for Swift after she endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

Portnoy dismissed Trump’s Swift attack as one of his usual “rants.”

“Listen, Trump goes on a rant, something made him upset, but he couldn’t be more wrong about this if his life depended on it,” he said. “Taylor hot is the number one musician in the world and there’s nobody particularly close.

The Barstool Sports head also dismissed blowback to Bruce Springsteen ranting against Trump during a UK concert. Following Springsteen’s rant going viral, Trump took to Truth Social to insult Springsteen and tell the musician to “keep his mouth shut.”

“This to me is all much to do about nothing,” said Portnoy about the feud. “I like Bruce Springsteen’s music. I don’t want to be lectured by Bruce Springsteen.”
