David Hogg: It’s ‘Bullsh*t’ to Block Gun Control Laws at the State Level

While speaking in front of a panel for the U.S. Conference of Mayors Winter Meeting, pro-gun control activist David Hogg said it is “bullshit” for people to oppose more gun control laws.

“If you think guns makes us safer, I got news for you, America would be the safest country on the damn planet if we have more guns than people in this country” Hogg told the group of mayors. “And there’s a reason why every other more developed country has significantly less gun violence and gun deaths than we do.”

Saying one of the ways the mayors can help implement more gun control is to enact waiting periods for all gun sales, “If you’re lucky enough to be in one of the states that doesn’t block gun regulations at the state level, which is bullshit by the way.”

Hogg advocated waiting periods since they help stop suicides by firearm, which account for the most gun deaths in the United States.

The one year anniversary for the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which propelled Hogg and other students into the public spotlight due to their advocacy, is less than one month away. The shooting claimed the lives of 17 students and faculty.
