Did Hillary Take a Swipe at Bernie Sanders in MSNBC Interview?

hillaryHillary Clinton made a comment today during her MSNBC interview that may have been a very subtle swipe at competitor Bernie Sanders.

Sanders has publicly expressed little interest in attacking Clinton (though he’s criticized her on policy a few times), and Clinton hasn’t really gone after her Democratic rivals that much either.

But on MSNBC today, Mitchell asked Clinton about Sanders (and Donald Trump) getting huge crowds because of how “authentic” they are. She asked, “Does it hurt you when people say you’re too lawyerly, you parse your words, you’re not authentic?”

Clinton denied that’s the case and said, “I think you can come with your own ideas and you can wave your arms and give a speech, but at the end of the day, are you connecting with and really hearing what people are either saying to you or wishing what you would say to them?”

CNN pointed out today Clinton said something similar about President Obama in 2008, and they got this comment from the Sanders campaign:

“Bernie is doing more than attracting large crowds. He has a concrete set of proposals to take on the billionaire class and rebuild the disappearing middle class. That’s what people are responding to.”

So was it a dig at Sanders? Watch the video below, via MSNBC:
