‘Does Anybody Believe This?!’ CNN Legal Analyst Doesn’t Buy Kash Patel’s ‘Implausible’ Epstein Testimony

CNN Senior Legal Analyst and former federal prosecutor Elie Honig is more than skeptical of some of the testimony that FBI Director Kash Patel gave to Congress on Tuesday.

Patel testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he was peppered with questions about the FBI’s response to Charlie Kirk’s assassination and the Trump administration’s decision not to release the government’s files regarding deceased child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

“You’ve seen most of the files,” Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) said to Patel. “Who, if anyone, did Epstein traffic these young women to besides himself?”

Patel responded, “Himself. There is no credible information, none. If there were, I would bring the case yesterday that he trafficked to other individuals. And the information we have, again, is limited.”

Kennedy was skeptical of Patel’s answer and said the director would “have to do more to satisfy the American people’s understandable curiosity in that regard.”

Hours later, Honig appeared on CNN’s OutFront, where Erin Burnett sought his reaction.

“We know that there are other men that the victims have accused,” she noted. “We know Ghislaine Maxwell is in prison for trafficking girls to Jeffrey Epstein and other individuals. So, what in the world is Kash Patel saying?”

Honig replied:

I couldn’t begin to answer that. Does anybody believe this?! Does anybody believe in a world where it was just Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein trafficking girls back and forth? And by the way, in addition to being illogical and implausible, there have been dozens of civil suits brought where victims have alleged that they were trafficked to, and sexually abused by, dozens of other men. so, that is completely non-credible.

In February, Attorney General Pam Bondi said Epstein’s client list was “sitting on my desk.” However, the DOJ now insists there is no list.
