Dr. Phil Diagnoses Trump’s Daughter Crush on The View
What’s the deal with Donald Trump’s history of making awkward jokes about having sex with his own daughter, Ivanka?
During a joint appearance on The View nine years ago, Trump complimented his daughter’s “very nice figure” and said, “if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.” And in a new Rolling Stone interview published last week, the GOP frontrunner remarked, “What a beauty, that one. If I weren’t happily married and, ya know, her father…”
Joy Behar, who asked Trump, “Who are you, Woody Allen?” when he first made that “joke” on The View, asked Dr. Phil McGraw for his take on the bizarre series of comments during Monday’s show.
“Well, you know, he doesn’t have an edit button, he doesn’t have a muzzle,” a diplomatic McGraw said. Noting that he’s been around Donald and Ivanka Trump in the past, he insisted, “There’s really nothing creepy going on there.”
The television psychologist went on to echo Trump by saying, “Right now, I think we are so overly politically correct that people are living vicariously through him saying the stuff that everybody wishes they could say.”
Behar pushed back on this point, arguing that not “everybody” secretly agrees with Trump on issues like Mexican “rapists” coming over the border. “That’s not a question of political incorrectness or correctness, it’s outright bigotry.”
