Even Stepvhen Returns! Steve Carrell Visits The Colbert Report

Last night, there was a reunion on comedy central: Stephen Colbert welcomed Steve Carrell to his program, and back into his embrace after years of togetherness rising as correspondents on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. More years have passed, and now Carrell is a star on the big and small screens and Colbert is a magazine cover staple with a hit show — on cable, as Carrell pointed out. Even Stepvhen? Definitely.

The pair argued it out, old-school style, in the first reprise of the onetime Daily Show feature, with Carrell’s loud “Yeeeeessss!” bringing the audience down. Then the zingers flew. Carrell: “What’s the matter – doesn’t Jon Stewart’s teat come with an extension cord?” Colbert: “Ooh, ten chairs – you could seat everyone who saw ‘Dan In Real Life.'” Then they actually did embrace, and fans went nuts. We also got a glimpse of the future as it might have been had the two swapped career paths, as the show opened as the “Carrell Corral.” Good stuff. Vids below.
