Ex DHS Official Claims He Could Be Trump’s Next Target After John Bolton FBI Raid: ‘We Expect It’
Former Homeland Security official Miles Taylor claimed on MSNBC that he expects to be targeted by the federal government following the FBI raiding the home of John Bolton.
Taylor, a vocal critic of President Donald Trump who served in his DHS from 2017-2019, joined MSNBC’s The Weekend on Saturday where Jonathan Capehart asked whether he feared being targeted after seeing the news about Bolton.
“When you heard the news, what did you think and how concerned are you that you could be next, your home could be next?” Capehart asked Taylor.
“Yeah, we expect it. I mean, really, we expect it. And that’s what is so surreal about this is we can all hear as we’re talking about this, be so certain of the president’s revenge campaign to know potentially who that next target might be or one of those next targets. I mean when my wife and I woke up and saw the news, she basically said to me, it’s coming,” Taylor said.
The Trump critic said he’s expected retribution for years from Trump.
“Folks don’t have to play the violin for John Bolton or Miles Taylor. Maybe they don’t like either of us. That’s fine, because it’s not about us. It’s about the criminal justice system that all Americans expect to be able to treat them fairly. It’s a president of the United States weaponizing the tools of his office to reshape our society. And he’s doing that. He’s making sure the scales of justice tip in his favor,” he said, adding, “There’s no telling where this could go next.”
Bolton’s Maryland home was raided this week by the FBI. The former nationals security advisor to Trump was not arrested or charged. Agents were seen pulling boxes from the home, and Vice President JD Vance revealed the probe is at least partly to do with classified documents. Bolton has long been a loud critic of the president, specifically on foreign policy, something Trump critics have tied to the raid. He’s blasted Trump’s efforts recently to negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.
