Fiorina: Trump ‘Tapping into Anger I Hear Every Day’

2016 GOP candidate Carly Fiorina told ABC News’ This Week Sunday morning that the base doesn’t give a fig about celebrity plutocrat Donald Trump, but does care about the issues he’s so potently raised.

“I have been in New Hampshire now for six days, and I have not been asked a single question about Donald Trump,” Fiorina said. “On the other hand I think Donald Trump taps into an anger I hear every day.” (The chances of both those things being true is exceedingly slim.)

“People are angry that a common sense thing like securing the border or ending sanctuary cities is somehow considered extreme,” she continued. “It’s not extreme, it’s common sense…People are also angry at a professional political class of both parties that talks a good game, gives good speeches, but somehow nothing ever really changes.”

Trump poses a challenge to outsider candidates like Fiorina, who may find that he sucks all the oxygen from her insurgent campaign, which was fighting for purchase to begin with. This is occurring ahead of a cutoff date for the first Fox News debate, which will limit candidates based on their ranking in polls, effectively weeding the field.
