Fox & Friends’ Brian Kilmeade: President Trump ‘Cares Way Too Much About People in the Media’

Fox & Friends discussed a recent Wall Street Journal interview with President Donald Trump on Monday’s show. Among the many bon mots to emerge from that article was when the Commander in Chief was asked about his tenuous relationship with Ann Coulter, the conservative provocateur who has become a vocal critic of Trump’s shifting position on building a border wall and possibly offering amnesty to illegal immigrants currently in the United States.

After Trump re-opened the government for a 21-day negotiation window to try to resolve the border security stalemate, Coulter called him a “wimp,” which was brought up in the WSJ interview.

“The president is quoted by the Wall Street Journal saying of Ann Coulter I hear she has become very hostile. Maybe I didn’t return her phone call or something,” reported co-host Steve Doocy, to which his fellow curvy couch mate Brian Kilmeade noted, “I just think the president cares way too much about people in the media.”

“He is president He is not a candidate,” Kilmeade continued, adding “He has got to make some tough decisions and he is not an absolute monarch.”

President Trump is reported to watch up to eight hours of cable news coverage a day and many believe that the very pro-Trump Fox & Friends is his favorite show. So there is a very good chance that the White House was tuned in to Fox News to watch that comment live.

Kilmeade’s comments come on a day after Trump criticized his Fox News colleagues John Roberts and Gillian Turner on Twitter saying they had “less understanding” on wall negotiations than “Fake News CNN and NBC.” President Trump often criticizes media figures but it is very rare that he has lashed out at anyone on Fox News.

Perhaps Kilmeade’s dig was a tepid defense of Roberts and Turner?
