Fox & Friends’ Professional Advice to Women: ‘Don’t Talk Too Much’

On the same morning that Fox & Friends hosted “Princeton mom” Susan Patton, who gave women advice on how to better respect their husbands, the show also welcomed Sylvia Ann Hewlett, author of the book Executive Presence, which features interview advice for women. Among Hewlett’s “don’ts” for women: “Don’t raise your voice under pressure.”

With the headline “Girls Gone ‘Mild'” across the bottom of the screen, host Brian Kilmeade interpreted the directive on voice as “keep it low, don’t speak loud — for women.”

“Well, men too, I think,” Hewlett said, explaining the a loud voice can reveal stress under tense circumstances like a job interview.

When she advised women to keep their points concise and not “fill the air with words,” Steve Doocy suggested, “Don’t talk too much.”

“Exactly,” Hewlett replied.
