Fox Guest Calls Trump Adviser ‘An Economic Terrorist’: ‘No Different Than the Islamic Regime in Iran’
A Fox Business guest described White House trade adviser Peter Navarro as “an economic terrorist” on Thursday and claimed he was “no different than the Islamic regime in Iran” amid President Donald Trump’s ongoing trade war with China and other countries.
During an appearance on Fox Business, Isaac Larian – the CEO of MGA Entertainment, which makes Bratz dolls and other famous toys – complained:
My head is spinning because every day there’s a new tariff. There was zero tariffs on toys before this and now it’s 145%, and to be honest with you, I blame a guy named Peter Navarro. My nickname for him is an economic terrorist. He’s no different than the Islamic regime in Iran that says “Death to America.” He wrote a book called “Death to China” twenty years ago. He has zero experience in manufacturing.
As Fox Business anchor Liz Claman replied, “Um,” Larian continued, “He should be fired. I know President Trump is loyal, I appreciate his loyalty to Peter Navarro who went to jail because of his fundamental beliefs, but respectfully, President Trump should be loyal to the American people, especially the children.”
“Hold on,” interrupted Claman. “He would say he is being loyal to the American people and that we have seen so many different plants and factories go by the wayside over the past several decades, and that’s why he wants to bring that back here.”
Larian then held up a Bratz doll and explained that her hair was made in Japan and her clothes were made in Bangladesh.
“There is not one factory in America that I know that can make hair, doll hair. Not one,” he claimed. “Why taxing the children? Why are you bothering with the children with 258 days left til Christmas? There was zero tariff on toys during Mr. Trump’s first administration. Leave them kids alone! It reminds me of that song by Pink Floyd.”
Trump increased tariffs on China to 145% this week while at the same time lowering his controversial tariffs against dozens of countries who are reportedly in negotiation with the United States.
China responded by blocking the release of Hollywood movies in the country – a move which Trump laughed off, saying, “I’ve heard of worse things.”
