Fox News Guest — Who Posted Anti-Asian Tweets in December — Weighs in on Alexi McCammond’s Old Tweets

Conservative pundit Kim Klacik, who co-hosted Fox News show Outnumbered on Friday, had harsh words for Alexi McCammond, who just resigned before starting her new job as editor of Teen Vogue, over old tweets she posted mocking Asians. But Klacik has her own anti-Asian tweets, posted just a few months ago.

Outnumbered took on the case of McCammond, who resigned on Thursday from Teen Vogue after staff protested her hiring. When McCammond was a teenager, she posted tweets mocking Asians and gays. Those tweets were unearthed in 2019, and McCammond profusely apologized. The tweets were once again brought to the fore when McCammond was announced as the next editor of the Condé Nast property — prompting another apology from the journalist.

Kim Klacik has been an infrequent guest on Fox News. Her run for a House seat in Baltimore received ample coverage on the network until she lost by 43 points.

On Friday, she criticized McCammond, declaring her “a pioneer in the cancel culture movement.”

“I remember when Ms. McCammond came after Charles Barkley for a bad joke that he told many years ago,” Klacik said. “So she was a pioneer when it came to cancel culture. Now to see cancel culture devouring one of its own pioneers.”

Klacik’s description of the Barkley saga, we should note, is false. McCammond did not go after Barkley for an old joke. Barkley told McCammond, to her face, “I don’t hit women, but if I did, I would hit you.” She tweeted about the exchange, and he ended up apologizing.

“I don’t feel terribly bad for her, because like I said, she was a pioneer in the cancel culture movement, but again, I think this sets a dangerous precedent for so many people moving forward,” Klacik said.

What went unmentioned is that Klacik was decried for posting a series of anti-Asian tweets in December. The posts apparently sought to smear Asians as somehow suspicious.

The tweets were decried as bigoted by commentators on both sides of the aisle.
