Fox Tries to Play Taylor Swift Video, Accidentally Airs Violent Brawl Instead: ‘Well. That Was Not the Clip’
Just shake it off, Fox.
The Fox & Friends crew was left red-faced Tuesday morning when a tape mix-up showed a violent brawl instead of an intended Taylor Swift clip.
The blunder occurred during Tuesday morning’s Fox & Friends, as reporter Carley Shimkus delivered the news of a forthcoming new album from the pop sensation.
“Taylor Swift is going to release a brand-new album!” Shimkus said. “The pop star made the announcement on the New Heights podcast with her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. Here’s a clip from the episode, which drops tomorrow.”
But instead of the New Heights clip, viewers were treated to a different kind of bad blood: video of a violent brawl that spilled into the streets of Cincinnati.
“Well, that was not the clip,” Shimkus said as the camera returned to her.
She then joked: “You know, sometimes I just take something out of my pocket and throw it into the TV and it’s the wrong thing.”
The release date for “The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift’s 12th studio album, has not yet been announced.
