Fox’s Andy McCarthy Predicts Hunter Biden Will Not Get A Prison Sentence: ‘It Will Be Very Minimal’

Fox News contributor Andrew McCarthy predicted that Hunter Biden will not serve a prison sentence after being convicted of federal firearms-related crimes.

On Tuesday, President Joe Biden’s son was convicted on three gun charges relating to him being in possession of a firearm while he was a drug user. The president has stated that he will not pardon his son and will respect the judicial process.

The conviction comes after former President Donald Trump was found guilty in a Manhattan courtroom for fabricating business records for hush money payments related to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

During a Wednesday interview on Fox News, McCarthy told anchor John Roberts that the younger Biden will likely not serve any time in a prison cell and that his punishment “will be very minimal.” McCarthy previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

ROBERTS: Again, very clear about a pardon, but has said nothing about commuting the sentence. What do you make of what she said?

MCCARTHY: Well, I think it’s politically incompetent, John. You know, first of all, I don’t think that Hunter Biden is going to get a prison sentence. If he does get one, it’ll be very minimal. But I’m pretty confident that Judge Noriega, regardless of what sentence she imposes, will give him bail pending appeal because of the Second Amendment issue, which means he’ll be out on bail into next year. So there’s no point before the election to address this, because it won’t be an issue until after the election. And then the other thing is, if you’re going to take the political hit for clemency, wouldn’t you pardon your son, who’s just been convicted of three felonies rather than, you know, just say, okay, the felony stick, but you don’t have to go to jail. I mean, that doesn’t make any sense to me.
