Fox’s Eric Bolling: ‘Jon Stewart, You’ve Gotta Be High’
A few months ago, Jon Stewart duked it out with Fox News––Eric Bolling in particular––over the network’s coverage of food stamp abuse. Well, Bolling couldn’t resist bringing that up and needling Stewart about it today, with a new report saying people are using their EBT cards to withdraw money at marijuana dispensaries.
Stewart mocked Bolling during that back-and-forth after Bolling said, “Let me school you, Mr. Stewart,” by digging up some old school supplies. Bolling today said, “Well, Johnny, it’s time to break out that slide ruler again. School’s back in session.”
Bolling and his guests found the pot shop stats outrageous. Jonathan Hoenig said it’s not so much about the pot itself (telling Bolling, “a percentage of people watching this show are getting high!”), it’s about the waste, fraud, and abuse in the system.
Bolling concluded the segment by saying, “Jon Stewart, you’ve gotta be high to think there’s not waste, fraud, and abuse.”
It should be noted that in the segment Stewart did responding to Bolling back in March, he said he has no problem with Fox News exposing government waste, but “what we were ridiculing was the way you exaggerate the scope of public assistance abuse through random, often unprovable anecdotes.”
