George Lopez Getting Canceled: ‘Not Saying Goodbye, We’re Saying Cable Doesn’t Work’

George Lopez told viewers of Lopez Tonight Wednesday that he’s fine, “but my Goddesses are a wreck” over TBS’ decision to cancel the late night show. With echoes of Charlie Sheen, Lopez said the loss of his show had led his Goddesses to give up on him. “They left me.” TBS announced Wednesday that it would not produce a third season of the show, and put the cancelation into immediate effect–the final episode is tonight. Lopez joked about that in his monologue, urging the studio audience to “settle down, settle down. I only have until tomorrow night.”

Later, the comic joked that “we’re not saying goodbye, we’re saying cable doesn’t work.”
