Glenn Beck: “What Team Are You On When You’re Standing Next To Communists?”
A major theme of today’s Glenn Beck was the idea of what side we’re on, whether we’re the good guys or the bad guys. Beck repeatedly claimed he “didn’t know who [his] country is anymore,” pointing to President Obama’s support of the Egypt uprising but seeming hesitation over Iran. At the end of the show, though, the theme stretched to include the protests in America as Beck asked what “team” someone could be on when they’re standing next to a Communist.
Beck began by pointing out that the Tea Party worked to banish the racists from their midsts, but asked if other rallies had done anything about the inclusion of Communists.
“Pay attention to who you’re standing next to. Teachers, firemen, policemen. Are you standing next to someone who really cares about the worker and you, or is it someone who just wants to strike out in violence? They want anarchy and Communism. Are they for the Constitution because I know you most likely are. Ask yourself, whose team are you on? What team are you on when you’re standing next to a Communist? Oh, I know they’ll ditch the radical pose for their radical ends, to quote Van Jones. But you can’t accept a pose. You have to be educated and enlightened and empowered to be able to save the Republic.”
