Heartwarming Today Christmas Story Interrupted By Adorable, Dancing, Camera Hog

Move over, Basil Marceaux. This is the best video you’ll see this holiday season. What begins as a truly sad story on Today about a family dealing with the loss of their husband and father in Afghanistan, turns heartwarming even before the big surprise the show’s producers had planned at the end. This is all thanks to little Keegan Roberts who couldn’t get enough of the big TV cameras and interrupted the proceedings for an impromptu dance performance.

However, like I said, this story begins sadly. On May 7, 2008, the Roberts family lost Kevin Casey, husband, father, and Army Staff Sergeant serving his third tour in Afghanistan. Ever since then, things have been hard, particularly Christmas. Casey’s daughter, Kaylen, wrote to a company called Christmas Decor which decorates the homes of military families for the holidays asking them to consider her family. Today picked up the story and joined the Roberts to surprise them with decorations and gifts.

If that wasn’t enough though, the entire live news story was (adorably) derailed by little Keegan who couldn’t get enough of the spotlight. Once Meredith Vieira began her live interview with the family, he got up and…well, just watch and enjoy.
