Before the committee vote on Secretary of State nominee Mike Pompeo today, HLN’s S.E. Cupp called out senators opposed to his nomination.

She said it’s not just Democrats, pointing to Rand Paul‘s initial opposition to Pompeo’s confirmation. (Paul announced minutes after Cupp’s remarks that he is now supporting Pompeo; the vote passed in committee.)

Cupp said Pompeo is “clearly qualified for his job,” telling Democrats, “It’s one thing to be a thorn in President Trump’s side, but this is an important position. We need to fill it.”

Citing serious issues like North Korea and Syria, she concluded, “Delaying this confirmation just to satisfy your partisan egos is actually putting the country in danger. You’re making us less safe. So quit dicking around and confirm him.”
