Howard Dean: Sanders Really Needs to ‘Dial Back’ Attacks on Hillary, ‘Harming’ Us

Former DNC Chair Howard Dean, a Hillary Clinton supporter, warned on MSNBC this afternoon that Bernie Sanders has to back off his attacks on Clinton in the name of party unity.

He said if Clinton wins New York tonight, “it probably is time for Bernie to pull the party together” and “tone down the rhetoric,” which Dean described as “bitter.”

He said that by going after Clinton so aggressively, Sanders is only helping the right, and his online fans are being so polarized that “it weakens the left.”

Dean declared that is presently “harming” both the Democratic party and the country.
