‘I Don’t Think Donald Trump Can Win’: Hugh Hewitt Calls On Trump To Withdraw
Well, the hits just keep coming for Donald Trump in the wake of his “grab ’em by the pussy” hot mic moment.
While a number of Republican politicians are falling over themselves in an effort to distance themselves from the GOP presidential nominee, issuing unendorsements and declarations that they no longer support Trump, conservative pundits appear to be following suit.
In an appearance on MSNBC’s AM Joy, conservative radio host and apparently former Trump supporter Hugh Hewitt stated that Trump needed to withdraw from the race for the “benefit of the country,” parroting a tweet he had just sent out prior to calling in.
For the benefit of the country, the party and his family, and for his own good, @realDonaldTrump should withdraw. More and worse oppo coming
— Hugh Hewitt (@hughhewitt) October 8, 2016
Speaking to host Joy Reid, Hewitt noted that he while he is strongly “never Hillary” he feels the Republican candidate has to drop out because there is more opposition research coming on Trump, and he fears it will be even worse than the Access Hollywood video. He flatly pointed out, “I don’t think he can win.”
“Moreover, you and I both know that opposition research save their best for last,” Hewitt lamented. “This is like sixth in line of their drops.”
