‘I Don’t Think It’s A Sin’: Pat Robertson’s Surprising Admission About What?
Televangelist Pat Robertson shocked many of his critics on Monday afternoon when he said during his 700 Club broadcast that he does not believe there is any “sin” associated with the act of undergoing a sex change procedure.
When asked by a viewer for advice on how to refer to two transgender co-workers who have undergone surgical sex changes, Robertson said: “I think there are men who are in a woman’s body. It’s very rare, but it’s true.”
He continued: “Or women that are in men’s bodies and that they want a sex change and that is a very permanent thing, believe me, when you have certain body parts amputated and you have shot up with various kinds of hormones, it’s a radical procedure.”
Robertson then made the most astonishing admission despite his penchant for saying things like homosexual activity makes him want to “vomit” or that it will lead to the demise of Western civilization:
“I don’t think there’s any sin associated with that. I don’t condemn somebody for doing that.”
Robertson did warn that he’d be suspicious of anyone’s claims that they are a man or a woman when they seem otherwise but, he concluded, “It’s not for you to decide or to judge.”
