Ingraham on Taliban Remark: Cantor ‘Can’t Take a Joke,’ Probably ‘Why He Lost’

ABC News political contributor Laura Ingraham responded on This Week with George Stephanopoulos Sunday morning to outgoing House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s (R-VA) statement that she was “cheapening the debate” with comments about trading him to the Taliban.

“If he can’t take a joke about a prisoner swap, he has no sense of humor,” Ingraham said. “That’s why he lost, probably.”

Ingraham displayed a flier that had been distributed by tea party activists in the days prior to the election, to demonstrate the organic opposition to Cantor’s role in immigration reform.

“This was a win for grassroots activists on the ground in Virginia,” Ingraham remarked on Cantor’s surprising primary loss. “Voters understood that if Eric Cantor went back to Washington, that was a green light for immigration reform. They call it that, voters call it ‘amnesty.'”
