‘It Ends Soon!’ Alisyn Camerota Predicts Trump Will Kill Elon Musk ‘Cage Match’ With ‘Backchannel’ Contracts
Sanity Podcast host Alisyn Camerota made the bold prediction that President Donald Trump would make his “cage match” with former First Buddy Elon Musk go away by feeding him “backchannel” contracts.
Musk was notably quiet on Monday despite having spent the end of the previous week outright slamming the president’s so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill” and taking to X to launch a series of incendiary attacks on Trump, including calls for impeachment and spotlighting his past association with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The tech mogul spent Sunday deleting several of the posts sent out to almost 200 million followers.
YouTuber Kevin Paffrath, host of Meet Kevin, joined the Sanity Podcast hosts Camerota and Dave Briggs on Monday to break it all down and examine whether the abandonment of electric vehicle tax credits in Trump’s new legislation triggered Musk’s flip-out.
“The worst thing for Elon right now is losing that federal pathway for robotaxis in every state, and so I’m personally flabbergasted that he would try to attack Trump,” Paffrath said. “We won’t need the EV subsidies if he gets his robotaxis so I don’t think it was the credits, I don’t know what happened it was something else maybe somebody took his pill box away because I do think he’s got a big pill box.”
“I mean it has been reported that he carries 20 pills a day,” Camerota jibed, referring to a recent New York Times report about Musk’s alleged drug use.
Pivoting, she drew on Trump’s past romantic relationships as she offered her prediction on how Trump would model his response, adding that it would all end soon and that Musk would be quietly paid off:
I don’t want to rain on our parade. I know we’re all really enjoying this cage match, this mortal death match, I know you are and I am too, except for the mutually assured destruction and the taxpayer money that’s being blown up and the fact that these two manchildren are apparently in charge of our government and our taxpayer dollars so all of that is really unpleasant. But in terms of the cage match element I’m enjoying it.
But here’s my prediction: it ends soon. Because look at Donald Trump, Donald Trump is famous for public brawls, I mean public breakups I guess I should say. Look at his ex-wives, look at what he’s done in public with Ivana [Trump], his ex-wife, look at what happened in public with [actress] Marla Maples throwing her engagement ring back at him, throwing a shoe at him in a restaurant. He has these major public breakups and then, amazingly, it goes away. It just goes away. They never say another word about Donald Trump. I don’t know what happens behind the scenes but his ex-wives never breathe another word.
Briggs pressed on the idea: “Yeah, but he can pay them. You can’t pay the world’s richest man.”
“He can bribe him somehow, he can give him…” Camerota continued.
“Oh, a contract,” Briggs replied.
“A contract,” she replied.
Briggs pointed out that “the only reason Tesla was actually profitable last year was because of energy credits to other companies.” He made $2.76 billion off of giving energy credits, the host said, noting that “Trump could kill that in the blink of an eye.”
Camerota said, “My point is that behind the scenes there’s going to be some backchannel phone call and this will go away very soon.”
Briggs interjected, “Some deal, shut up about the Epstein files and I’ll give you a federal contract.”
Paffrath wholeheartedly agreed, “I wouldn’t be surprised if [Musk] got some form of message that was ‘hey you know you want to keep flying SpaceX, you better start shutting the F up.’”
He continued, “I think that’s one of the reasons Tesla stock rebounded a bit today because people are sitting there looking: is Elon still going off the deep end? And [suddenly he is] oh remarkably quiet, remarkably just talking about how great SpaceX is and nothing about the bill, nothing about getting in his way.”
He also warned that he believed “the worst thing” Musk could do is “try to fight Trump.”
“He’s too powerful. Way too many politicians supporting that circle, and if that’s the circle you want to be associated with,” the YouTuber added. “I think as soon as you try to fight Donald, you’re going to be getting some pretty nasty messages that not only, in my opinion, include killing his businesses but potentially also include making him disappear.”
