Jeanine Pirro Unloads on Trump’s Omnibus: ‘President is Surrounded by Incompetent, Inept Warriors’
Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro unleashed a scathing rebuke of the $1.3 trillion omnibus bill President Donald Trump signed Friday, describing the spending package as a “total betrayal” and a win for the Washington D.C. swamp.
But fear not: None of this is Trump’s fault, according to Pirro.
“The omnibus bill the Republicans gave President Trump yesterday is a total betrayal of him and the people who elected him,” she said during the Saturday night opening of her show, Justice with Judge Jeanine. “It’s was as if they left him without arms to swim in a sea of sharks, risking our health and safety. Now I told you a long time ago that the establishment was against Trump. Remember how panicked they were when it looked like he would actually win nomination … In spite of their back slapping and glad handling, they just proved that they still are.”
The president begrudgingly signed the omnibus on Friday, saying he would “never sign another bill like this again” during a televised signing. While the bill includes $1.6 billion for his campaign promise of a border wall stretching across the U.S.-Mexico border, it also includes funding for Planned Parenthood and social programs Trump has been seeking to cut since campaigning for the White House.
Pirro slammed House Speaker Paul Ryan (R—WI) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel (R—KY) for failing on their promise to help Trump build his wall by supplying $15 billion in federal funding.
“This betrayal should be no surprise,” Pirro said. “Ryan and McConnell never cared about [Trump] succeeding. Two months after he was elected, Ryan failed to deliver votes on the health care bill — the one that he had seven years to work on.”
“This is not on President Trump,” she added. “This is on the leadership of the Republican Party. The very people this president should be able to count on. In truth the president is surrounded by incompetent, inept warriors. This is total betrayal by the Senate and Republican leadership. The president and the people who voted for him have been betrayed by speaker Paul Ryan and leader Mitch McConnell.”
