Jeb Bush: Trump’s Done Some Good Things, But I’m Concerned About ‘Really Dangerous’ Foreign Policy
Jeb Bush tells @davidaxelrod that President Trump falls short in "symbolic" presidential duties.
“It’s important during national tragedies, it’s important in moments of crisis, it’s important in the day-to-day creation of culture that helps sustain us.” https://t.co/ukrUaW0A05 pic.twitter.com/jlHIBdVAIN

Jeb Bush spoke with David Axelrod about President Donald Trump‘s overall job performance, and while there are some positives (the economy and the judiciary), he has some big concerns.
He took issue with Trump’s stance on trade before getting onto his serious concerns about foreign policy:
“We haven’t had a major crisis to deal with, but this unilateralism or go-it-alone-ism I think is really dangerous. Our friends no longer believe that they can trust the United States. Our enemies in many cases feel emboldened by this approach. I think it defies the… bipartisan consensus on foreign policy that has by and large kept America safe.”
Axelrod noted how many Republicans are willing to overlook Trump’s character because he’s delivering on key conservative issues.
Bush said the issue of character is an important one for a president:
“When people, particularly presidents who have a duty beyond policy of being the leader of our country, the leader of the free world, I think the symbolic, the kingly duties of the president, that’s where he falls short. And it’s important. It’s important during national tragedies, it’s important in moments of crisis, it’s important in the day-to-day creation of culture that helps sustain us.”
