John Boehner Sums Up Feelings About Resignation with 4 Words

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) opted not to give a press conference to discuss his decision to resign from Congress next month, but as he exited a closed-door meeting with staff Friday morning, reporters shouted questions at him about his decision to step down.

“Congratulations, Mr. Speaker!” one reporter said. “Does it feel like a weight off your shoulders?”

“It’s a wonderful day,” Boehner replied with a smile on his face. As more reporters asked, “Why now?” he declined to comment any further.
