Jon Stewart Clarifies: I Actually Did Vote, Was Being ‘Flip’ on CNN
Jon Stewart opened tonight’s live Daily Show by addressing what he said earlier on CNN about not voting. And he wanted to make it clear he wasn’t being serious and did vote.
Christiane Amanpour asked Stewart if he voted today. Stewart said no, because he doesn’t know where his polling place is and he just moved states and yada yada yada.
Well, it turns out Stewart wasn’t being serious. He said tonight, “I did vote today, I did know where my booth was, I was being flip.” And Stewart explained that it mattered to him to clarify this because he didn’t want to appear to be dismissing the voting process or discouraging people from thinking voting is important.
