Judge Aquilina Sentences Larry Nassar After Blistering Condemnation: ‘I Just Signed Your Death Warrant’
As Judge Rosemarie Aquilina presided over Larry Nassar‘s sentencing hearing, she ripped the disgraced U.S. Olympic doctor to pieces for his criminal sexual conduct against his 156 victims.
After Nassar led the hearing with a statement to his victims, Aquilina offered consolation to the women by saying that their torment has finally ended. As Aquilina went over Nassar’s guilty plea, she blasted him for abusing his position for years and acting for the sake of his own pleasure and control.
Aquiline especially scolded Nassar while reviewing the letter he previously sent her, asking to be excused while his victims testified about his actions before the court. In fact, she took his letter and threw it away.

“This letter which comes two months after your plea tells me that you have not yet owned what you did, that you still think that somehow you are right, that you are a doctor, that you’re entitled, that you don’t have to listen, and that you did treatment,” Aquilina stated. “I wouldn’t send my dogs to you, sir.”
As the hearing proceeded, Aquilina eventually sentenced Nassar to 40-175 years in prison, noting that he will never be a free man again.
“I just signed your death warrant,” the judge proclaimed. “I’m a judge who believes in life and rehabilitation when rehabilitation is possible. I have many defendants come back here and show me great things they’ve done in their lives after probation, after probation, after parole. I don’t find that’s possible with you.”
