Kanye Announces 2020 Presidential Run in Sprawling VMA Speech
At the end of an epic acceptance speech for the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at tonight’s MTV VMA’s, which included an extended takedown of award shows in general, Kanye West made this announcement:
“We’re going to teach our kids to believe in themselves. I don’t know what I’m going to lose after this. It don’t matter, though. It ain’t about me. It’s about ideas. People with ideas. People who believe in truth. And yes, as you probably could have guessed by this moment, I am running for president in 2020.”
As Miley Cyrus said after a break, “Trump, you had my vote. But now? Kanye West for president!”
