Karine Jean-Pierre Chides Fox’s Peter Doocy After He Asks About Poll on Biden’s ‘Mental Sharpness’: Let’s Compare Him to ‘Your Favorite President’

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre straight up accused Peter Doocy of pro-Donald Trump bias in response to his question about President Joe Biden’s acuity.

“Why do you think it is that more and more people polled feel like over time, President Biden is getting less and less mentally sharp?” Doocy asked at Monday’s press briefing. He clarified that he was referring to ABC News’ recent poll which found that 47 percent of respondents say Trump has the mental sharpness necessary to serve as president, whereas Biden only polled at 28 percent. This is a five percent drop for Biden since ABC’s poll on the subject back in May.

Jean-Pierre called that poll result “a little confusing” as she defended Biden’s performance in office. As she noted the bipartisan infrastructure deal that Biden signed years ago, Jean-Pierre allueded to “Many presidents before, like your favorite president –”

“Who’s my favorite president?” Doocy asked.

“Why don’t we let the American people guess?” Jean-Pierre answered. Doocy wouldn’t let her get away with that, saying, “I don’t understand what you’re getting at.”

“Let me finish and you’ll guess who I’m talking about,” Jean-Pierre. Of course, Trump regularly proclaims himself America’s “favorite president,” and Jean-Pierre made it rather clear he’s the one who she was referring to.

Infrastructure week, infrastructure week, which was a punchline. It became a joke. And now we are seeing Infrastructure Decade because of this president. There’s the Chips and Science Act, right? There is the Inflation Reduction Act. These are legislation that is going to have a difference for generations to come. And so, this is something that this president has done. That’s pretty sharp for this president to have been able to do that.
