Krauthammer on Flynn: ‘What in God’s Name Was He Thinking?’

Charles Krauthammer said on Fox News tonight that given everything we’ve learned this week about Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, it’s hard to understand how he ended up becoming National Security Advisor in the first place.

Given how Flynn registered as a foreign agent this week for the $500,000+ he received for Turkish consulting work, there have been a lot of questions about how aware the Trump team was of this. Sean Spicer said the transition team didn’t know Flynn would be registering.

Krauthammer told Bret Baier tonight that this sure wasn’t nothing because Flynn was paid during the “height of the campaign” in the final few months.

He brought up how Flynn was involved in briefings after the conventions, noted the column Flynn wrote in support of Turkey on election day, and said, “What in God’s name was he thinking? There was no way he could have survived. It’s really hard to understand how they chose him in the first place.”
