Las Vegas Gunman Had Cameras Set Up Inside Hotel Room During Shooting
During a press conference this afternoon to provide new information on the mass shooting that took 59 lives in Las Vegas, Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo provided some key details about the gunman’s actions that night and the scene of the crime.
With the deceased shooter Stephen Paddock using hotel rooms on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel as a sniper’s nest, Lombardo told reporters this afternoon that Paddock had cameras set up both inside and outside of the rooms.
“I’m not aware of any transmission but there were cameras,” Lombardo replied to a reporter who asked him about reports that there was a camera in the room. “There was cameras located inside of the room and outside of the room. Along with the firearms.”
He added that he couldn’t say for certain if the cameras were set up to capture the assault while adding that some could have been used to look for anybody trying to take him into custody. When pressed if there was a recording of him carrying out the carnage, Lombardo wouldn’t answer and said that the FBI was evaluating any digital and video evidence.
