Laura Ingraham Defends Elon Musk’s Hand Gesture as One of His ‘Wild Gesticulations’ After Critics Called It a ‘Nazi Salute’

Laura Ingraham defended Elon Musk after the billionaire made a hand gesture that resembled a Roman salute used by the Nazis.

Speaking at a rally in Washington, D.C. shortly after President Donald Trump was inaugurated on Monday, Musk thanked supporters by placing his hand on his chest and extending it up and outward with his palm facing down – twice.

Democrats and liberal pundits ripped Musk over the gesture while neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes hailed it as a “straight up” Nazi salute. Musk and his supporters deny the accusation, with some claiming that Musk simply lacks the awareness to know his motion could be interpreted as a Nazi salute.

On Wednesday’s edition of The Ingraham Angle on Fox News, the host scoffed at the idea that Musk gave a nod to Nazis.

“Now, we all know that Elon Musk is excited about the Trump agenda and that he’s prone to sudden wild gesticulations,” she said. “Kinda funny. And that is what the grasping, gasping resistance grabs onto.”

Ingraham played a montage of pundits and politicians condemning Musk:

JIM ACOSTA: This looks very much like a Nazi salute, no matter how they’re trying to clean it up.

[…]

REP. ROBERT GARCIA: He should be condemned for those kinds of actions. So gross, disgusting.

[…]

SEN. CHRIS MURPHY: Over and over last night, White supremacist groups and neo-Nazi groups in this country rallied around that visual.

Ingraham said these criticisms of Musk are “really just another sign that we’ve won they’re out of ideas.”

Musk got himself in hot water in 2023 by agreeing with a tweet claiming that Jews “have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them.”

The billionaire replied, “You have said the actual truth” before trying to walk back his assent.
