Laura Ingraham Unwittingly Accuses Herself of ‘Typical Mean Girl Behavior’ With Shot at AOC
Fox News host Laura Ingraham blasted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Tuesday for making the same dig that Ingraham herself has made.
On Monday’s episode of The Ingraham Angle, the host spoke with OutKick’s Riley Gaines, who challenged Ocasio-Cortez to a debate. Gaines became a conservative media star by indignantly recounting how she tied for fifth place with a transgender woman in a collegiate swim meet in 2022.
“I want to honestly challenge AOC to a debate,” Gaines told Ingraham. “She can defend socialism. I will defend capitalism. She can defend removing God. I will defend embracing a biblical worldview.”
AOC responded by tweeting, “And I would like to challenge this person to get a real job.”
On Tuesday’s show, Ingraham took umbrage at the lawmaker’s response. The host aired a clip from Mean Girls where one of the characters introduces her “burn book.”
“Mean Girl AOC is turning X into her own little burn book,” Ingraham said. “A feud igniting on social media between the congresswoman and Riley Gaines.”
Ingraham summarized the online food fight and aired a snippet of Gaines challenging AOC to a debate and the congresswoman’s response of “get a real job.”
The host said:
But instead of accepting the challenge, saying, “Yeah, let’s just sit down and talk, debate,” AOC responded to that by saying, “I would like to challenge this person to get a real job.” That’s just typical Mean Girl behavior.
Ingraham is no stranger to telling others to get a “real job.” In February, she slammed Democrats for lamenting the firings of federal employees at the hands of the now-forgotten “Department of Government Efficiency.”
“How do you resurrect your party, though, by protecting red tape and the bureaucracy?” Ingraham said at the time. “By trying to gin up sympathy for federal workers who need to get real jobs in the real world like most of America. Ever heard of it?
