Lori Loughlin’s Advice to ‘Kids Going Back to School’ Did Not Age Well After Cheating Scandal

There’s a tweet for everything, including the college admission scandal that has implicated actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman in a plot to bribe their kids’ way into elite schools. In Loughlin’s case, it’s the advice she gave kids “returning to school” in 2013.

According to court documents, former Full House star Loughlin and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, “agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team— despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC.”

Her advice to students in 2013 did not include bribery. Not exactly.

A Twitter user named Taylurr04 asked Loughlin “hey! Any advice for kids going back to school?”

Loughlin responded by saying “Do your homework,” but added a winkie-face emoji:

That emoji, as they say, is doing a lot of work here.

Also in 2013, Loughlin tweeted that she’s always “excited to go Back to School Shopping,” which seems like quite the understatement now:

Loughlin and Huffman are among the 50 people arrested by the FBI in this scam, including 33 parents who paid tens of millions of dollars to cheat their kids’ way into elite colleges.
