Megyn Kelly to Ex-NSA Head: Could NSA Actually Retrieve IRS Emails?

Megyn Kelly got the opportunity to speak with former CIA and NSA head Michael Hayden tonight, and so she couldn’t resist asking him if the NSA would be able to retrieve the IRS emails that apparently got lost after Lois Lerner‘s hard drive crashed.

Hayden, of course, didn’t bite, telling Kelly that the NSA does not look at people’s emails. (What’d you think he was gonna say?) However, he did propose an alternative plan of action.

Hayden told Kelly the NSA is quite good at recovering data from drives that have been thought to be unrecoverable, so if the IRS gave the hard drives over to the NSA, they might be able to retrieve the emails after all.
