Michael Jackson’s Kids At The Grammys: Prince & Paris Accept Award In Their Father’s Stead

Michael Jackson received the 2010 Grammy’s Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by longtime friend Lionel Richie to Prince and Paris Jackson on their father’s behalf. The children have been out of the spotlight since their appearance at their father’s funeral, and they were poised if uncertain as they accepted the Grammy and said a few words. Son Prince spoke of his father’s love for his fans and his extensive charity work, saying “Through all his songs, his message was simple: Love. We will continue to spread his message, and help the world. We love you, Daddy.” Daughter Paris, the more hesitant of the two, stumbled a bit and ended with a simple “Thank you. We love you, Daddy” as the crowd, on its feet, looked on and applauded.

The award was presented following a peformance by Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Usher and Smokey Robinson, presented to the room in 3D, for which the crowd was adequately prepared with glasses. I know 3D is supposed to be a big trend, but that will never not look goofy.
