Michael Strahan Slams Trump’s Hamberder Feast, Offers to Buy Lobster for Clemson Tigers
Donald Trump‘s now-infamous feast of “hamberders” drew sharp criticism from former NFL great and GMA Day host Michael Strahan, who slammed the fast food buffet that Trump arranged for the Clemson Tigers football team, and offered to host the team for a meal of lobster and other pricey foods.
On Tuesday afternoon, Strahan told the audience that due to the government shutdown, Trump paid for a meal of fast food for the team’s visit to the White House.
“You’re a billionaire, man,” Strahan said, and exclaimed, “I can afford fast food!”
“That being said, I personally, as the non-impressive athlete as you let me know I am, I would like to invite the Clemson Tiger football team here for a great meal,” Strahan said, to applause from the audience. “Yeah. Yeah. Come on here, everybody. Whoever can make it, we’ll hook you up with lobster.”
Trump’s feast has drawn widespread mockery, which only grew after he boasted on Twitter that he’d served “over 1000 hamberders” to the team. The sandwiches were actually “hamburgers,” and just hours earlier, Trump had pegged the number of burgers at 300, not a thousand.
Speaking of Whoppers, fast food chain Burger King expertly trolled Trump over his “hamberder” gaffe Tuesday in a tweet that quickly went viral:
due to a large order placed yesterday, we’re all out of hamberders.

Trump’s shutdown is now in its 25th day, and is taking more than twice the economic toll than was originally estimated, which could mean a lot more hamberders, and a whole lot less lobster, for everyone.
