Mo’Nique Opens Up About Being Blackballed by Hollywood
Mo’Nique won an Oscar for her performance in the movie Precious, but because she didn’t do much campaigning, she believes she got blackballed by Hollywood. Director Lee Daniels confirmed as much and said her not playing the Hollywood game “soured her relationship” with the industry.
On CNN tonight, Mo’Nique told Don Lemon that it’s not like she wasn’t getting any offers, she was. But the kind of offers she was getting “didn’t make sense,” considering she had just won an Academy Award, which is usually a big deal and something that guarantees actors big roles.
