MSNBC’s Michael Steele Literally Clucks Like Chicken Mocking GOP Senator

MSNBC’s Michael Steele made his feelings clear on Sen. Jim Banks (R-IN) by clucking like a chicken after watching the lawmaker be confronted on Capitol Hill by fired federal workers.

Mack Schroeder joined MSNBC’s The Weekend on Saturday to discuss cuts to the federal government and he and other fired federal workers confronting Banks this week on Capitol Hill. In video captured of the confrontation, Banks told Schroeder he “probably deserved” to be fired because he’s a “clown.”

After watching the video, Steele kicked off the interview by clucking like a chicken to mock Banks, who eventually makes his way to an elevator in the video, escaping the questions from the workers. Schroeder previously worked at Health and Human Services (HHS) and he insisted that cuts being made to the department are a “matter of life and death” for many elderly and disabled people.

“Frankly, I thought it was despicable, but when I first saw it, I was like, vote these people out,” Symone Sanders-Townsend said in reaction to the Banks video.

Schroeder noted that Banks only doubled down on calling him a “clown” after the video.

The senator said in a video posted to X:

The Democrats and the left-wing media have lost their minds because I told a left-wing activist in the halls of the Senate office buildings yesterday what I really thought: A clown is a clown, who’s chasing senators through the halls with a cellphone, complaining about losing a left-wing woke job in the federal government that should have never been a job to begin with.

Schroeder accused Banks and others of blindly supporting federal cuts with no “rhyme or reason.”

He said:

On what he was saying he sort of had this thing about, you know, everyone being on the Hill as like woke activista and all this stuff. But I think what I tried to hone in on is it’s, you know, I wasn’t looking for him to tell me why did I lose my job, when am i getting reinstated. I wanted him to know what it’s gonna do for his constituents when they have all their services cut. So this isn’t really about me, it’s not about, you know, what he said, it’s about the fact that he does not have a plan in place and just kind of blatantly supports these cuts with no rhyme or reason.
