NBC News Pulls Brian Williams Photos from Historic 30 Rock Studio Hallways
According to multiple Mediaite sources at NBC, the news giant has removed photographs of ex-Nightly News anchor Brian Williams from its historic third floor studio hallways.
Shortly after Williams received a six-month suspension for repeatedly embellishing or outright lying about his experiences covering war zones abroad, we noted how — aside from obvious personnel decisions — the network faced a truly awkward internal aesthetic problem: The third floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza was covered in a large number of posters featuring the network’s star anchor, including those honoring the tenth anniversary of his anchoring the Nightly News broadcast.
Those posters apparently remained on the walls even as Williams’ career prospects continued to dwindle. But not anymore. Now that Williams’ fate has been decided — he will become MSNBC’s main breaking news reporter — the network has finally decided to remove his face from its venerated studio hallways.
In Williams’ place are posters honoring the Today Show‘s concert series performances, among others. See below for an exclusive photograph:
