‘Now You Are President’: Brit Hume Calls for Trump to ‘Be More Effective’ Following Antisemitic Firebomb Attack

Fox News iconoclast Brit Hume called on President Donald Trump to be more effective in fighting antisemitic hate crimes following the firebombing of pro-Israel protestors in Boulder, Colorado this weekend.

On Sunday, pro-Israeli protestors were attacked by an individual who allegedly shouted “Free Palestine” before throwing homemade firebombs. FBI Director Kash Patel put out a statement about the incident, saying, “We are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado,” Patel said. “Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already, and we will share updates as more information becomes available.”

During a Monday evening appearance on Special Report, guest host Shannon Bream cited the latest FBI data, saying “anti-Jewish hate crimes, the latest data that they have between 2022 and 2023 up 63% and there’s a lot of speculation now about what we’re seeing on our college campuses, how that’s actually for some people going beyond rhetoric and turning into very dangerous and in some cases fatal action.”

“Well, you remember when those college presidents said, when asked about calls for the elimination of Israel, basically, that whether that was violating their codes of conduct would depend on whether they crossed the line from talk into action,” Hume replied.” Well, there’s been a lot of action, as the statistics you decided demonstrate. And this was, even though we don’t apparently have any fatalities at this point, this was a particularly hideous attack, frightening attack. You know, it could happen in the streets of an American city, with lots of people around, and so forth. ”

“And I think that it illustrates that this antisemitism is a force in the world, it’s a historic force, and it has reared its ugly head in a major way inside the United States of America and needs to be clamped down on hard,” Hume continued before bringing up President Trump.

“You know, this attack supports the Trump administration’s arguments about immigration,” he correctly noted. “But it also raises the question of, okay, that’s fine, but now you’re president, Mr. Trump, and these things continue to happen. You need to be more effective. At least a lot of people may say that. He’s certainly trying.”
