Oops! Rick Perry Says The Post Office Ate His Primary Ballot
It’s been so long since former Texas Governor Rick Perry dropped out of the Republican presidential race that I had to double-check that he was ever in it. He was, and if CNN’s Kate Bolduan is right, he might still be in the hunt this November. In an interview with Perry Friday, Bolduan noted that Perry’s Texas primary ballot was never cast, which preserves his eligibility to run as an independent in the state. Perry, however, insisted that this was all the fault of big government, and specifically, the United States Post Office:
Actually, the Post Office straight-up losing something, especially something being mailed within a county, is pretty rare, and Perry’s denial was very conspicuously not a denial. Maybe Perry is keeping his options open in case the Republicans don’t award him the nomination at their contested convention. You can be a fool even when it isn’t April.
